Dillon Hale, Managing Partner

Dillon Hale is the Principal and founder of Peninsula Capital Partners and its Family Office Academy. Peninsula Capital Partners provides strategic consulting, educational and coaching services to large family offices and private investment companies throughout Asia.

Prior to Peninsula Capital Partners, Mr. Hale was the Head of Asia at a leading New York based family office with a group total of $19 bln in assets under management, 10 different global investment strategies, a staff of over 125 people and offices globally.

Before this, Mr. Hale was Head of Asia and then Principal in New York at the family office for the co-founder of a prominent global listed technology company and founder of a prominent movie production company. This movie production company has produced almost 100 movies, nominated for 74 Academy Award's and won 19, including a number for ‘Best Picture’.

This family office managed $6,5 bln across multiple asset classes investing globally with a strong focus on venture capital and private assets.

Mr Hale has also been a Strategic Advisor to PWC on family office best practice, sat on the Investment Advisory & Asset Allocation Committee of a large mainland Chinese family office and co-authored an Asia Family Office Guidebook under the auspices of Institutional Investor Magazine. He has been interviewed by a number of leading Asian investment publications, newspapers and magazines seeking his views on family office best practice.

For the last 26 years Mr Hale has worked in Africa, Australia, the US and Asia and is considered a leading expert on family office best practice.

Jack Selby, Operating Partner

John (“Jack”) R. Selby is a technology, finance and independent film entrepreneur. His primary role is as the Managing Director at Peter Thiel’s family office.

Jack was one of the original cohort of employees at PayPal, and served as Senior Vice President overseeing the company’s international and corporate operations prior to its sale. After selling PayPal to eBay in October 2002, Jack and Peter founded Clarium Capital Management in San Francisco.

As an active technology investor and advisor, Jack is closely involved with notable companies such as SpaceX, Palantir, Affirm, Blend, Bird, Offerpad, Myeloid Therapeutics and others.

Jack received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hamilton College and currently serves as a Charter Trustee and member of the Investment Committee for the college’s endowment.

Jack’s other philanthropic activities include the Navy SEALs Foundation, co-host/founder of the Arizona Technology Innovation Summit with Governor Doug Ducey, and co-founder and member of the Board of Directors for the Wyoming Global Technology Partnership with Governor Mark Gordon.

Jack is a resident of Teton Village, WY and Paradise Valley, Arizona.


Henry Heckman, Operating Partner

Henry is the CIO at Delta International Family Office and the Founder of BayCal Partners.

After working at one of Asia’s largest hedge funds, Henry joined an established European family office where he has served as Chief Investment Officer & Portfolio Manager since 2012.

Henry’s responsibilities at this family office include group investment strategy,  asset allocation, fund selection, portfolio management, and investment due diligence.

Henry has a deep network and is a trusted partner in the asset allocator community across family offices and institutions. He has invested proprietary capital into well over 100+ actively managed funds across private equity, hedge funds, private credit, long-only, while consistently outperforming industry benchmarks.

Henry has great practical insights into family office investment best practice, as well as all operational issues that single family offices face.

Henry attended the Hobart and William Smith Colleges at Geneva, New York State and has completed an MBA at HKUST Business School.

Henry works out of Denver, Colorado.
